LIGHT AND ELECTRON MICROSCOPY ON METASTATIC OOPHOROMA

A female aged 64.Radical gestrectomy for cancer was performed 2 yearsago, and 4 courses of chemotherapy were done postoperatively.An induratedmass was found in the left lower abdomen occasionally 3 months before admission on March 6,1992.
Laparotomy was carried out on March 13,1992 & the tumor of bilateral ovaries were removed.Light micro-scopic showed signetring cancer cells in the fi- berous bundle in both ovaries,elctron microscopic- revealed microvilli found on the surface of the cancar cells.the nucleoli of the cancer cells were huge and heterotypic.with network of the hetero-chromosome.The diagnosis was established elctron microscopically as matastatic adenocarcinoma of the ovary (krukenberg's tumor).The incidence of the cancer,its histological typing,biological behavior, treatment and prognosis are diccussed.
